BSNL 3G services reach Andhra Pradesh!

The much awaited 3G services finally arrived in Andhra Pradesh earlier this month. India’s state owned telecom player, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd. (BSNL) has launched its 3G services across 29 cities and 23 district headquarters in Andhra Pradesh. This comes right after the service was launched in Bangalore and Karnataka.

The existing subscribers of BSNL 2G prepaid mobile connection can migrate to 3G services just by SMSing “M3G120to 53733 while Postpaid 2G subscriber need to send “M3G25” to 53733.

New subscriber can buy 3G prepaid connections, U-Sim (3G sim card) at Rs.59. You need to recharge the SIM with the first recharge coupon of Rs. 120. After recharging with FRC -120, the new 3G subscribers will get 50 free video calls and 25 MB Data usage as a welcome gift.

The tariffs are slightly different for existing and new BSNL consumers.

The Pay per second Tariff War – Cheap Calls in India

Pay per second collageTata Docomo was the first telecom company that launched a pay per second tariff plan in India. They targeted the large audience who are in the habit of keeping track of their call time. Soon after, all other popular telecom service providers like Aircel, Idea Cellular, Vodafone and Airtel also introduced similar plans to have a piece of the pie and provide their esteemed customers more value for money.

The latest to join pay per second bandwagon, Bharti Airtel will be charging its customers one paisa per second for all Local and STD calls to Airtel numbers and 1.20 paise per second for local and STD calls to other networks. Vodafone rolled out a similar plan a couple of days before the Bharti Airtel offer.

Idea Cellular, Aircel, and Tata Docomo, however, are offering pay per second tariff plan across networks.

This one is for all our Nimbuzz fans using Vodafone Pre-Paid and Post-paid connections. We have been hearing that a lot of Nimbuzz users are facing difficulties in connecting to Nimbuzz thorough Vodafone Live. We thought that we should bring to your notice the “Vodafone Mobile Connect” internet data plan to connect to your favourite Mobile Messenger.

We have put together the details, on how you could get the settings for Mobile Connect and the plan rates for both pre and post-paid connections.

To use Vodafone Mobile Connect:

  • You need a GPRS – enabled handset.
  • Need to activate Vodafone live on your phone {Postpaid customers: SMS ACT VL to 111 (toll free) & Prepaid customers: SMS ACT VL to 144 (toll free)}
