VOIP over 3G on iPhone: check!

Good news for iPhone users:  now you can make free VOIP calls over 3G on iPhone with Nimbuzz!

Yes, after months of waiting it’s finally happened: the Wi-Fi hunt is over. Now you can call all your friends from Nimbuzz, Skype, Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger or Gtalk for free, using just your 3G internet connection and Nimbuzz!

You will also cut down your international calling costs with NimbuzzOut (NimbuzzOut rates). Now you can use your NimbuzzOut credits to call your family and friends from abroad really(really) cheap from wherever you are.

Calling over 3G is available for the latest version of Nimbuzz for iPhone, available as a free download here: Nimbuzz for iPhone.

The new feature is available in all the countries for all the iPhone. However, before using it please make sure your mobile operator allows it.

If last week we had good news for Nimbuzz Java users, when we announced our latest update optimized for Java touchscreens, this week we come back with more good news: We fixed the BlackBerry connection issue! Yey! [Download link]

Last year in December we announced our first native application for Blackberry’s . Unfortunately a few weeks after the new BB 5.0 O.S. upgrade went live and some pieces of our code didn’t worked with the new O.S., we had to go back to the “drawing board“  .

Although it took longer than expected, we did it and now all of you can enjoy running Nimbuzz on Blackberry.

And just to refresh your memory, here are the key features for the current version:

Use Reliance SmartNET to chat with Nimbuzz on Reliance GSM.

We noticed that some of you have issues using Nimbuzz on the Reliance service and we would like to help. In order to get Nimbuzz working again you need to use the SmartNET access point and not a WAP access point as Nimbuzz application doesn’t work on the same (see the instructions below).

Good news for all PC users ;) , we have just released a new update for Nimbuzz PC .

This new version brings:

  • Phonebook integration
  • 10 New languages (now 13 in total)

A new important addition of the new PC client is the Phonebook, this comes as a really useful feature especially for the NimbuzzOut users.

With Nimbuzz Out you can make really cheap international calls from any PC to your  friends and family abroad on their mobiles or regular landlines. And now thanks to the Phonebook feature, you can store all your phone numbers online and access them from any other PC. All you have to do is login with your Nimbuzz account.

  • Custom ringtone – chose a custom ringtone for incoming Nimbuzz calls
  • Voicemail support – not available for the call? No problem, now your friends can leave you a message
  • Call SkypeOut contacts – call the phone numbers saved as contacts in your Skype phonebook
  • Permanent notification – choose if you want to see the Nimbuzz icon in the notification bar while the app it’s running.
