The Pay per second Tariff War – Cheap Calls in India

November 6th, 2009

Pay per second collageTata Docomo was the first telecom company that launched a pay per second tariff plan in India. They targeted the large audience who are in the habit of keeping track of their call time. Soon after, all other popular telecom service providers like Aircel, Idea Cellular, Vodafone and Airtel also introduced similar plans to have a piece of the pie and provide their esteemed customers more value for money.

The latest to join pay per second bandwagon, Bharti Airtel will be charging its customers one paisa per second for all Local and STD calls to Airtel numbers and 1.20 paise per second for local and STD calls to other networks. Vodafone rolled out a similar plan a couple of days before the Bharti Airtel offer.

Idea Cellular, Aircel, and Tata Docomo, however, are offering pay per second tariff plan across networks.
