G-Fone launches G-588 with Nimbuzz pre-installed.

Bright Telecom India has launched G-588, the latest offering under their ‘G-Fone’ brand and the best thing about it is that G-588 comes with Nimbuzz pre-installed :D so you can chat for free with your friends.

Launched for the more messaging oriented people, G-588 is extremely stylish with a Qwerty Keypad and dual SIM. The dual SIM feature in G-588 is unique as it allows either of  GSM+GSM or GSM+CDMA modes to be used on the same handset (depending on the SIMs inserted).

To start using Nimbuzz on your G-588 all you need to do is make sure that you have the right GPRS plan with socket connection, then click on the Nimbuzz icon, enter your username and password or create a new account and you are ready to Rock n Roll. ;-)

The key features of G-FONE 588 include:

Dual Sim (GSM + CDMA & GSM + GSM)
2.2 inch, 64000 Colors QVGA TFT Display
Screen Size 2.2”
Phone Book -1000 X 10 fields

  1. I dont think the company is reliable. The email addresses given on their website is entirely wrong. All the email IDs belong to ‘gfone.com’ but their domain is ‘g-fone.in’. Not only this, no one responds over 022-2876 9381, the contact no. given on their website. There is no information about any retailers /dealers on their website. I made a query on local market (in Kolkata). The shops do not recognise the name of any ‘G-fone’ or ‘Bright Telecom’.
How do you expect a good product form such an unreliable company??

  5. no option to select mode
    sim1 only
    sim/uim2 only
    only flight mode
    flight mode is available.
best thing in this mobile is, it can serve both GSM and CDMA. get ring while call on call another network. can call to other network from the same phone itself may be because of GSB
no option to select recurring birth day reminder in calender. no option to create folder for messages in phone. no seperation of sim1 and sim2 phone book. no call recording. overall we can say it’s missing many basic functionalities which are provided in basic phones. battery back up is very low it is serious issue with this phone whether u talk or not it will give back up only less than one day with no multimedia usage. i never expected these many drawbacks in one phone.

  7. Nimbuzz is a great software but only one BIG PROBLEM: I am not able to see all my Facebook friends in the contact list. Only some of them are seen. Other who are even online are not shown in the contact list so i can’t chat with them. Only if they send me a chat message, i get to know that they are online and only then i can chat! :( please solve it out! It’ll be very thankful of you!

  10. Nimuzz does not officially support the G-Fone.
I bought this phone and cannot connect to Nimbuzz. As someone rightly said, nobody answers the phone nos. they have given! This one lacks a lot of features. Its called a business phone only by its looks. If you are in any Java app, you cant access the phone menu. Eg. if you are on Internet you cant switch between phone and internet, so which means you cannot keep Nimbuzz or Snaptu on for 24 hours. Its like one has to choose between phone and Social Networking! Crazy!!!

  13. @All, for those who were facing problems in logging on to Nimbuzz, you can uninstall and reinstall the Nimbuzz setup from the Nimbuzz website, and then try connecting to Nimbuzz.

Let us know your feedback on this.

You can also refer to the No more error logging to Nimbuzz!! HTTP fallback now available both on Symbian and JAVA blog post for your reference.

  14. Hi Shahnawaz, Why are you not providing support or answering queries pertaining to Nimbuzz on g-fone! How does g-fone come bundled with Nimbuzz where as Nimbuzz doesn’t recognise this phone anywhere.

Moreover there is no delete option in Nimbuzz when it comes pre-installed.

    Any suggestions?

  17. Absolutely agree with amanpreet.

Its a waste of money. Within the first twenty days the side keys stopped working. The service centre TAIPAN is another disaster. No manners to talk. They keep you waiting for ages. Never give any service report of whats wrong with the phone. My phone is lying in the service centre from the past 10 days. Nobody at the service centre responds or picks up the phone. They just keep buying time so that one fine day, the customer gets fed up and takes his phone back in as-is-where-is condition!
