Good news for the owners of a Java mobile:  there is a new Nimbuzz version(1.6) available and it’s waiting for you to download. [Download Nimbuzz  for Java]

The key features are:

The new version brings kinetic scrolling and bigger touch areas to Samsung and LG touch screen mobiles.  We also listened to your requests and now we support:  LG Prada, LGVX9100,  LG Voyager,  LG Vu,  Samsung SPH-M540,  Samsung Star and Samsung Jet.

  • Change the language without another download

A great thing about this version is that you can change the language of the application after you have already installed it on your mobile, no more reinstalls needed.  Simply go to: Menu -> Setting-> Languages and choose from the 11 available languages. Also check out the emoticons, we translated them in all 11 languages ;) .

As usual, many issues have been fixed with your help by sending your feedback via email, our Nimbuzz blog and Twitter. If you have any feedback for the new version please let us know :) .

    I’m using S8003 phone having the following software version:
    S8003+DD+IG1
    Modem:M6246AKPUOL120026_3G_02
    SHP:VPP R5 2.1.1
    CSC:S8003DDIG1
    I downloaded Nimbuzz 1.6 from get.nimbuzz.com
    The application installed properly and when trying to start the app i got the error message.

  4. @ Samir, Hi! Samir I recommend a firmware update in this phone and then check again.

    The firmware that works:
    S8000L+VD+IF3_IG

  7. @charanjit, Hi. Please share with me as to which connection you are using and do ensure that you have your GPRS settings on as Nimbuzz does not work on LIve/http settings.

    I installed it for Samsung Star but while connecting it fails evertime even if GPRS connection present.

    ‘Connection failed’ message comes everytime.

  21. Making calls via phone through EDGE system is very slow. You can try using 3G to make calls or connect via Wifi

    But if you want to use for SIP call, it has no option.
