76% of you use prepaid mobile plans

Blog poll

And the results for the Blog poll ‘Which mobile plan do you use?’ are out, and an overwhelming 76% of you prefer a prepaid mobile plan over a postpaid one.

Though your preference is very clear, maybe you would also like to refer to our previous posts on Mobile data plans in India:

This way you can get a greater clarity on the various plans available with the popular operators in the country and make an even more informed choice :)

Postpaid is used by only 24% of you as your mobile plan to communicate probably because of the variety of offers, reduction in tariff plans and the comfort of one time payment.

One of the major reasons for 76% of you choosing prepaid could be that, you have substantial cost reductions over postpaid plans because prepaid allows you to monitor and budget your phone usage in advance. Many people including me have activated some SMS plans and use GPRS vouchers as well to use Nimbuzz and Internet over the phone. As a result the call charges get very low.

Another reason for the adoption of prepaid mobile can be the easy availability and the watered down documentation required for the connection.

You can also see the distribution of the votes cast in map below to get an idea how the responses are spread.
