We are again back with the popular GPRS rates and usage details series. This time we bring to you the details of BSNL.

Below, are the details on how you can get the settings for BSNL GPRS and the plan rates for both pre and post-paid connections.

To activate GPRS on your BSNL connection:

PREPAID: SMS GPRSPRE to 53733 (Toll Free).

POSTPAID: SMS GPRS199 or GPRS49 for monthly rental plan of Rs 199 or Rs 49 respectively to 53733 (Toll Free)

You can also download the settings specific to your mobile by:

Send SMS (Handset model) E.g. NOKIA 5800 OR SAMSUNG SGH-D526 to 58355 (Toll free)

You can also use the following manual settings:

  1. GPRS Settings:
  • Account Name – BSNL GPRS
  • Username – (Blank)
  • Password – (Blank)
  • Proxy – disabled/no
  • Homepage – www.google.com
  • Proxy and Server address – (Blank)
  • Proxy and Server Port – (Blank)
  • Access Point Name – bsnlnet (For all Zones)
  1. Portal Settings:
  • Account Name – CELLONE PORTAL
  • Username – ppp
  • Password – ppp123
  • Proxy – enabled/yes
  • Homepage – www.google.com
  • Proxy and Server address – 10.31.54.2
  • Proxy and Server Port – 9201 or 9401
  • Access Point Name – portalnorth.cellone.in (for north zone)
  • portaleast.cellone.in (for east zone)
  • portalwest.cellone.in (for west zone)
  • portalsouth.cellone.in (for south zone)

The cost for internet on BSNL GPRS plans are:

Prepaid users GPRS surfing rate will be 5 paise per 10 kb

The Post paid users can use the monthly subscription of Rs 49 or 199 for the following usage:

Plan I – Rs 49

Activation Fee: nil
Rental: Rs. 49 per month
Usage limit: 5 MB
Over limit usage charge: 1 paise per KB
MMS charge: Rs. 3
Usage charges on roaming: 2 paise per KB

Plan II – Rs 199

Activation Fee: nil
Rental: Rs. 199 per month
Usage limit: Unlimited
MMS charge: Rs. 3
Usage charges on roaming: 2 paise per KB

This should now prove useful to all those who wanted to know the tariff rates and how to activate GPRS on BSNL and use Nimbuzz.

  5. Perhaps Airtel is the only service provider in India who have differant plans in differant reason.They have no unlimited plans.Aircel give us monthly Rs 98 unlimited throughout India,bsnl have Rs 199 unlimited.But Airtel alwayes gives a limit,why?

  9. Is chatting on Nibuzz in gtalk is chargeable in Rs 49 plan of BSNL GPRS? M using that plan…and I find there is a limit of 5MB usage……..in that plan…so plz give me the info ASAP.
