Airtel Prepaid Mobile Internet Vouchers cost comparison

The much awaited Airtel Prepaid Mobile internet Vouchers are finally here. Few months back Aircel started to promote its Pocket internet with real easy plans of Rupee 14/- for a 3 day package and Rupee 98/- for a 30 day package. Taking the queue, Now Airtel has also introduced its Mobile Internet Vouchers to target the always-on-the-move generation, who want to manage their internet usage and gain better value for money.

The vouchers come in 2 options:

Rs. 95 voucher offering 100 MB download which is valid for 30 days
Rs. 26 voucher offering 15 MB download which is valid for 7 days

Airtel already had a ‘Zero Rental GPRS plan’ for which 30 paise is deducted for every 50kb of download from GPRS and a ‘Daily Download Internet plans’ of Rs. 10 for 3MB of data download, or Rs. 20 for 8MB of data download. These end up costing 16.67 paisa and 12.5 paisa per 50kb respectively.

The table below will let you know exactly how much you are spending per 50 KB download in each plan and the saving in each plan as compared to the Zero Rental GPRS Plan.

This means using Nimbuzz has become much easier on the pocket. We must point out that although this launch by Airtel is on similar lines of the Aircel Pocket Internet, the cost is slightly higher. However, Airtel with its larger network coverage is justified in charging this premium.

With this move by Airtel, we are sure that other operators will soon come up with new and innovative mobile internet plans in the times to come.

This plan adds another means of connection, for those who were facing trouble connecting to Nimbuzz with Airtel Live, or were finding the Airtel Mobile Office Plan a bit expensive. The use of these cards will make Nimbuzz usage cheaper than current Airtel Rates on any data plan available.

There is no chat app that can beat Nimbuzz.
Nimbuzz is the only reason i plan to buy an Aircel card. Tgey’re offering a unlimited plan Pocket Inernet.
But i’m not sure if Nimbuzz will work on Pocket Internet. Nimbuzz does not work on a wap service like Airtel Nop/Live. It needs a proper full gprs connection like Airtel Mobile Office.
Can u pls tell me if Nimbuzz will work on the unlimited Aircel Pocket Internet access point? Is it a wap or a full gprs connection? Nimbuzz is a must for me.

@ Smayan, Thanks for your comments. Nimbuzz works on Aircel Pocket internet where you just have to chose the access point as Aircel GPRS

I m having Airtel prepaid card. Whenever I start Nimbuzz, it says unable to connect.

Where can I specify, which option to use like Airtel live or Airtel Mobile Office Plan in the application?

Nirav apply MO configuration to your application via configuration setting in ur phone.

I have set default profile on my mobile as MO, previously it was AirtelLive.

I m only getting Nimbuzz application, selecting it starts the application, but it does not have any settings to change..

@ Nirav, You can try connecting to Nimbuzz through Airtell Prepaid vouchers or Mobile office, instead of Airtel Live.

Whenever you connect to Nimbuzz there will be an option to select your connection type: select any type other than Airtel Live.

Hi Shahnawaz,
The real problem is I m not getting any option to choose the connection type.

While starting the application, it shows option of Network Access: I m selecting Allow until exit.
then i m getting screen which shows…”Testing Your connection”
After a while, i m getting “The application is unable to connect at this time. Please check your…”
Options are Retry and Exit.
How can I set the connection type?
In my mobile, i have selected default internet browsing profile as Mobile Office.

m using nokia E71, ive successfully tried aircel pocket internet, was a user of airtel mobile office since 2 yrs.; on earlier posts its mentioned dat airtel has launched monthly gprs pack for 95{100mb}, and aircel has a similar pack for 98, buh its actually unlimited. Ive downloaded 3.5gb of data on aircel 98 pack in a span of a month without any deduction in prepaid balance. Also, i daily connnect it to my pc.
The airtel mobile office unlimited plan has been discontinued inn maharashtra. Hence da switch over to aircel !

@Dalton, GPRS Voucher are like prepaid vouchers which you can use as per you require. They do not consume your mobile talktime.

@sandeep, the Rs 95 plan has been replaced with a voucher of Rs 98, in which you get downloading upto 2GB. Once you have activated mobile office and recharged with Rs 98, you just have to select your access point as Mobile Office and then connect through Nimbuzz.

Recently Airtel has introduced new mobile office value pack for Rs 97 and in this gets 2000 MB free browsing absolutly free. It’s so amazing for us ever with Airtel. I’m so happy by this pack. Use Airtel……

Nimbuz is working well in TATA DOCOMO and BSNL 3G Sim. Rate is also cheaper than Airtel.

what a plans available in airtel and it is updates in seconds no better plan then the 99 plan which give 30tt and msg offer also with 30days validity but now there is no offer regarding the new plan which give low rental with 30days validity…….please do needful…..
